Horizon Equity Partners was founded in 2017 and is led by Sérgio Monteiro and Nuno Alves, both with an extensive track record in the Portuguese infrastructure sector.

Horizon results from the will of four experienced professionals to occupy an uncontested market space in the Portuguese investment landscape. The Team brings unmatched local market insights and strong network capabilities to identify and deliver investment opportunities in the infrastructure sector and regulated assets.

Fund I reached first closing in December 2018 exclusively subscribed by Portuguese entities both institutional, such as Pension Funds, Insurance Companies, Foundations, Mutual Funds, and some of the most relevant Family Offices in Portugal.

The investment policy was successfully executed and Fund I assets were already divested. Horizon has launched its successor fund, Horizon Equity Partners FollowOn Fund SCSp, with the first closing occurred in March 2021.
