The signing of the contract took place yesterday, Thursday, as confirmed by a source close to the process to Jornal Económico. The deal comes after the insolvency, decreed in 2014, of Sociedade de Renovação do Campo Pequeno.

The signing of Campo Pequeno's Sale Purchase Agreement for 37 million euros to Álvaro Covões and Horizon Equity Partners fund, managed by António Pires de Lima e Sérgio Monteiro, took place yesterday, Thursday, as confirmed by a source close to the process to Jornal Económico.

Álvaro Covões, using an entity other than Everything Is New, will manage Campo Pequeno Arena (including events promotion) and the shopping centre. The fund managed by António Pires de Lima and Sérgio Monteiro, former Secretary of State of Infrastructures, Transport and Communications (…), will manage the parking facility.

There is still no information if the Arena will keep the realization of the traditional bullfights.

The Eco newspaper announced last week that the event's promoter Álvaro Covões and Horizon fund had been awarded with Campo Pequeno's tender. At the time the contract wasn´t signed yet, which occurred on Thursday.

The deal comes after the insolvency of Sociedade de Renovação do Campo Pequeno decreed in 2014 and the subsequent appointment of an insolvency manager, Paula Mattamouros Resende. In 2014, debts had already exceeded 100 million euros.

Álvaro Covões is an events promoter in Portugal. He is the founder and managing director of Everything is New, which hosts Nos Alive festival.

The Horizon fund, which is specialized in infrastructure asset management, founded by António Pires de Lima and Sérgio Monteiro, is part of a Morgan Stanley consortium which acquired Altice’s telecommunications towers.
